Finally had a chance to install Windows 7 on a little shuttle PC I had. The plan is to turn this system into a CCTV server as our neighbours garage got broken into recently and we want to catch anyone entering.
Here is a shot of the system it’s tiny!
Windows 7, looks good, feels better. Very much has the same look as Vista but more responsive. The hard drive is not constantly churning away in the background. This is something vista is famous for, slow hard drive, slow system. Laptops have slow hard drives. I can only see good things for laptop users and Windows 7
The shuttle only has 512MB RAM and a celeron CPU (spares I had lying around) however it was very quick loading vista and noticed no delay which is always a good sign. I also like how when you click the start menu the shut down button actually shuts down the computer. In vista it by default it would put the PC to sleep which still required power.
I’ll be offering Windows 7 upgrads next month with pricing. If you’d like to upgrade to windows 7 in in your city look back here in a few weeks as I’ll have a special price. Lower that the rest of the computer shop in in your city of course!
In the mean time I’ll post what other features I find.
